Caroline Livanos
Director and Lead writer
I began my career in marketing over 25 years ago. While I enjoyed working on big brands in the corporate world, I was always drawn to projects that involved writing. I’m glad I listened to my calling because I completed a graduate diploma in editing and publishing in 2012 and began a new chapter in my career.
In 2016 I was employed as Scope’s Accessible Information Coordinator. I spent the next six years writing Easy English documents, delivering training, working with people with disability and advocating for accessible written information. During that time, demand for our award-winning service increased substantially and our customer base grew from government and not-for-profit groups to corporate organisations in sectors such as banking, transport, legal and essential services.
I started Easy Read Australia to continue this important work.
I’m a big believer in equality for all. My eldest son, Michael, was diagnosed with severe autism in 2003 and I’ve seen first-hand the barriers people with disability face in our community. Michael has inspired me to make a real difference through my work.
